NFC, digital or paper business card: which should you choose?

Do you want to leave a card, share your details from your phone or equip a team? Compare paper cards, digital profiles and NFC cards, then choose your DigiCart finish. With DigiCart, the physical card and digital profile work together: an editable profile, Apple Wallet and Google Wallet are included without a subscription.

Paper, digital profile and NFC: three ways to share

On small screens, scroll the table sideways to compare the three formats.

How you share Hand a printed card to the person you meet. Share the profile link or let someone scan its QR code, including from a Wallet pass. Hold the card near an NFC-compatible phone. The recipient taps the notification to open the profile. The QR code is an alternative.
What you share The printed information. A QR code can also lead to a digital profile. The contact details, links and presentation you have published on your profile. Access to the same digital profile, from a card personalised with your design.
Updating details Printed text needs a new print run. The page linked to a QR code can be updated. Edit your contact details, links and appearance in your customer area. The NFC/QR link still opens the updated profile. Printing and engraving stay unchanged.
Without Internet Printed details can be read without a phone or a connection. An already added Wallet pass remains visible offline. The offline-contact QR contains a copy of the details; the profile QR needs Internet. The NFC chip and profile QR open a web page. An Internet connection is needed to view it.
Costs over time Allow for design, print runs and reprints according to your needs. Included with your DigiCart, without a subscription for the profile or its updates. One-time purchase of CHF 29 to CHF 100 depending on the finish, including VAT and Swiss delivery. A replacement card is a new purchase.
Suitable use Leave a physical card that the recipient keeps and can read without a smartphone. Share remotely by message or from your phone, and keep your presentation up to date. Present the same card at several meetings without handing it over to each person.

The digital profile and NFC card are not separate offers: every DigiCart includes its profile. The table explains their different roles in everyday use.

FAQ

What is the difference between an NFC card and a digital business card?

An NFC card is a physical card with a chip that opens a web address on a compatible phone. A digital business card can be only a profile, link or QR code, without a physical card. Check what is actually included.

Do I have to stop using paper cards?

No. Paper is convenient when you want to leave something readable without a phone. An NFC card and digital profile let you share editable information and links. You can use both according to the person you meet, without reprinting a paper card for every new detail published on your profile.

What does the DigiCart price include?

The personalised card, programmed NFC chip, digital profile and updates without a subscription, Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, customer area, profile statistics, VAT and delivery in Switzerland. Essential costs CHF 29; other finishes cost CHF 59 to CHF 100.

Does the NFC card automatically save my contact details?

No. Your contact taps the notification to open the profile, then chooses whether to save the contact. The profile needs Internet; a QR code or link can replace NFC reading. A contact already saved on a phone does not update automatically.

Are Apple Wallet and Google Wallet included?

Yes, without a subscription, from the customer area on a compatible device. The profile must be public, active and not password-protected. The pass displays a QR code; it does not turn the phone into an NFC card.

Which QR code works offline?

The online-profile QR opens a web page and needs Internet. The offline-contact QR contains selected public contact details in vCard format, which can be read without loading the profile. The recipient chooses whether to save them, depending on their QR reader. A pass already added stays visible offline but cannot receive new data without a connection. An imported contact remains a copy: the phone’s address book does not sync automatically.

Can a card be reassigned to another employee?

Yes. An authorised manager can reassign a member profile within their own team, replace contact details and set a new password; previous sessions are invalidated. The profile link and the card’s QR/NFC stay the same. The manager confirms the operation and supplies a recovery address controlled by the company. If the account being reassigned uses two-factor authentication, this operation is blocked; contact DigiCart. The printed name stays unchanged, so a replacement card may be needed. Contacts already imported into phones do not update automatically.
